This Dragon Lantern is the base design in my Lunar New Year / Chinese Lantern SVG series, perfect for Cricut, Silhouette, and 3D paper crafting. The file includes two interchangeable lantern panels—a Dragon and a Chinese Knot—so you can create three different 3D lantern looks from one template. This versatile Chinese New Year lantern makes an elegant DIY décor piece for any Lunar New Year celebration or festival display, and a beautiful addition to seasonal home décor.
This design is intentionally modular, with additional Chinese zodiac animal panel designs released over time that use the same Dragon Lantern construction method. Visit my SVG shop to see available Chinese zodiac panel add-ons.
Important: Zodiac panels are add-on SVGs; you must own this Dragon Lantern base file to assemble a complete lantern.
When assembled, the lantern measures approximately 8 inches from the top to the bottom of the frills, or 12 inches including the tassel.
