Winter landscape seen through the window, and green plant

I live in ever sunny California but I have fond memories of growing up in Ontario, Canada, where we would have 3 or 4 snow days every winter. Days where there was so much snow on the ground and blowing in the air that schools would shut down because it became a hazard to go outside.

Nothing beats waking up expecting to go to school and then being told that school was cancelled! I loved having the extra time to do whatever I wanted. All day. The possibilities were endless back then on a snow day.

Now with two young kids, that extra time is few and far between. But when I do find some time to myself, I enjoy letting my creative juices flow and coming up with new craft ideas. I opened my Etsy shop, Chaiv, 8 years ago as an outlet for my ideas. At that time my eldest son was two years old and I was ready to get back into the design world I had left to be a stay at home mom.

I love creating for my Etsy customers but more and more I’ve noticed the internet is creating more DIYers. And that is where the idea for this blog arised. I have so many project ideas, why not share how to make them? I hope you enjoy making my projects on your “snow day” and please don’t be shy to share them with me!
