I am a novice at this. What Cricut would you recommend for a beginner?
Hi Melody,
The Cricut Explore Air 2 is a good machine for beginners. If you’re just planning on small projects, the Cricut Joy is their newest machine. It’s a smaller machine so the cut space is smaller than the Cricut Explore Air series.

Thank you Lorinda. I hadn’t heard of the Cricut Joy Xtra but I’m happy to see that the cutting size is 8.5″ x 4ft. All my designs are made to be cut on 8.5″ x 11″ size paper.

I purchased the Christmas Tree SVG (because I love it so much) and am trying to cut it on a Cricut Air 2. I can cut other designs very cleanly but I cannot get clean cuts on these leaves to save my life. I originally tried cutting on 60 lb cardstock with no luck, then 24 lb text paper. Still no luck. The cones cut cleanly but not the leaves. Any ideas?

All is well and I am happily cutting on the Cricut with the new downloads. I think the cardstock was also part of the problem. I am now cutting on 110 lb cardstock and it’s perfect. Your response was quick and successful. It was a pleasure working with you.
