If you’re looking to create a cozy holiday home, here are a pair of DIY Christmas Lanterns that will help you capture that holiday magic. These lanterns are designed to hold LED tea lights, which are perfect for that twinkling effect you want with holiday lighting. Hang them in groups or sprinkle them on side tables and mantles to create a dazzling display.
If you’re planning a Winter Wonderland party these lanterns are perfect for creating warm, ambient lighting. The snowflake patterns will easily complement your winter theme and you can add colored ribbon to match your party decor.
They’re incredibly easy to make and require no glue or tape—just cut, assemble, and add ribbon or string for hanging. Scroll down for my video tutorial on how to make these lanterns.
Here are a few notes about the lanterns:
- Two lantern designs are included in the Christmas Lanterns SVG.
- Lanterns are 4″ tall by 2.75″ wide. One lantern template fits perfectly on 8.5″x11″ paper. To make larger lanterns, use larger paper size and scale accordingly.
- There are red dotted fold lines in this template. If your download is showing the red dotted fold lines as solid lines, change them to dotted lines for cutting (see video for more detail).
- Lanterns are designed to hold LED tea lights (link below).
