Some of you may already know how much I love gold Kodaama card stock paper. On a whim I decided to use it to create my Easter egg basket and oh my goodness is it lovely! I had not planned to write this post but this egg is so pretty I had to show it off.
I wanted a birdcage-like look for my egg but thought it might look incomplete to just leave my cutouts uncovered, so I tried using clear acetate as my backing piece. However acetate peels off as soon as your glue dries, so I ended up leaving the backing piece off completely. Turns out it’s not even necessary because my egg looks just fine with the open cutouts. So all you need to make this project is gold cardstock and whichever card stock colors you choose for the grass bottom.

And just by pure luck, my gold egg fit perfectly on this little iron bird bath I have. The bird bath (or treat platter, which is how I’ll be using it) measures about 6.5″ across. I love this so much it has me thinking I should design an actual cake dome next🧐

You can find my original post for this Easter egg basket here, and here is a direct link to the SVG file in my shop. You have to make this I know you’ll love it!
